I can show you, better than I can tell you
Tonight, my kids have tried patience on one the highest levels. Wont go into details on what they did. I guess was feeling rather giving earlier. I paid lunch money up for the rest of the month, with room for them to get ice cream and other goodies they offer at the school besides hot lunch. I went to Nordstroms Rack, which is my new favorite store, and bought them all a pair of shoes. I gave them their shoes and all was well. Something about their smile and their reactions that makes me feel good when I give them things when they are not expecting it. Then I walked up stairs to their rooms...and BOOM!!! Guess what?? I gladly returned there shoes.. and got my money back. Not like they really needed the shoes, cuz they have plenty. I just felt like being nice.. I like new things and I know they do too.. But I DON'T reward disobedience. If I ask you to have your room cleans before you play.. hey that's what I expect. Maybe I'm too hard on them. But hey, they gotta learn priorities some how. Work, then play. Well, when I came back home rooms were in decent order. I guess they thought I was bullshitting......
